Transcript of extracts from diary during war of 1939-1945, showing his experiences from an anti-martial student, with CMF Artillery at Newcastle and Bribie Island, and with US Signal Intelligence Service. Letter describing a visit to Japan in September 1945 with comments on devastation, attitude of Japanese, and future of Japan. Also includes three news clippings in which Marshall described a visit to Tokyo immediately after the war.
