Lincolnshire, England. C. 1941-06. One of the flights of No. 452 (Spitfire) Squadron RAAF set out on patrol from their base at RAF Station Kirton-in-Lindsey. This is the first fighter squadron of the RAF of which the flying personnel (with the exception of two Flight Commanders) are entirely Australian. It became operational in 1941-05.
