Howard, Leo Alexander (Gunner)
Description
A collection consisting of copies of letters written by Gunner Howard to his sister and parents whilst in Greece and Crete, poems (originals and copies) and a photograph of a dead German paratrooper. The letters are written in a humorous tone and describe the fighting Howard was involved in. The poems describe the war, death, being shell-shocked, his school days, his family and Australia. The poem 'Ode to a Dead German' relates to the photograph contained in the collection.
