Two drivers of the womens Australian National Emergency Service (NES), Miss Alice Gould, a wealthy socialite (left) and Mrs D'Arcy-Irvine, a member of a prominent Sydney family, beside a RAN ambulance donated by a Girls' School which they operate in conjunction with four others of the organisation as a group. Members of the NES are volunteers from all walks of life and have qualified to drive heavy motor transports, including omnibuses.
