3 inch Mark II T Anti-Aircraft Projectile
A 3 inch calibre, Mark II T, high explosive, projectile as used in the 20 hundredweight anti-aircraft gun that was in service (with various modifications ) from 1914 to 1945. The projectile is 270 mm long and has a diameter of 76 mm with a 60 mm diameter threaded nose fuse insertion hole. The hole is fitted with a nose cap (no fuze fitted). The projectile is painted black with a 28 mm wide red band over a 9 mm black band over a 14 mm red band. The colours indicate a shrapnel filling. There is a 16 mm copper driving band located 28 mm above the base. The base is fitted with an 18 mm length of exposed tracer container.
