Description
The poem "The Battle-Field" was written by Pte Beale to commemorate his friends and comrades from the 10th Brigade who fell at Buna-Sanananda during December 1942. The poems describes the fighting the Australians were involved in, what it was like fighting the Japanese and the spirit of the Australian soldiers.
