A group of happy crew members relaxing on HMAS Perth. The sailors across the front from the left are George Osgood, Ernie Brown, Mort Collier, Joe Deagon and Paddy Crayton; second from the left in the rear is Jacky Backen and to his left Alex Murphy. In the second back row on the far left, with his right hand on another sailors upper arm, is Richard Nikola. Further to the right the man in the peaked cap is Chief ERA Joe Hughes (later a POW) and in front to his left is George Christie.
