Wallet 1 of 3 contains 155 airgraphs written from Flying Officer Kain to his wife Marcia, and children Margaret and Ann.

Wallet 1, Folder 1 contains airgraphs dated from 28 August 1943 to 30 December 1943. Kain writes about his travel to Ottowa through the United States of America and western Canada, the difficulties and delays in receiving mail, seeing snow for the first time, beginning flying training and the aerial observers course (AOC), taking photographs in Canada, preparing for his exams, and travel to Invermere over the Christmas period.

Wallet 1, Folder 2 contains airgraphs written between 2 February 1944 and 28 June 1944.
