Wallet 1 of 2 consists of a diary written by Corporal Roxburgh detailing his service in Singapore and subsequent time in a prisoner of war camp, written after he returned from the war from notes he had kept on numerous sheets of paper. Roxburgh gives detailed information about the food provided both daily and to prisoners in general, and the cost of necessary staples in Singapore after Japanese money was declared useless.
