Army daze, Home sweet home
A large, distorted figure wearing an apron and flowered dress, holding a smaller, weaker man in army uniform by the throat. The large figure is saying "Just give me one good reason why you want to go back to Vietnam?" A 'Home Sweet Home' sign hangs in the background above a small child. Three other children, one with a rattle, are in the foreground. The words 'Army Daze' appear at the top of the work. This work highlights the many problems experienced by Vietnam veterans as they attempted to assume their former lives, including integration back into families and communities on return home from war. Such difficulties manifested as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) through feelings such as alienation and emotional estrangement from others.
