Description

Diorama of the ancient triple-walled city of Babylon at the time of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II (605-562 B.C.). Represented in the diorama is the river Euphrates which flowed through the city and the Tower of Babylon known in the Bible as the Tower of Babel (centre right). Viewing the display are members of the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) left to right: Major Cees Wolterbeek (Netherlands Army), Staff Sergeant John Wood (British Army), Colonel Pavel Castulik (Czech Army, Chemical Engineer) and Warrant Officer Dirk Van Gent (Royal Netherlands Air Force, Chemical Disposal Member).
