Muthanna, Iraq. 1992-07. The entrance to an underground cruciform storage bunker site inspected by the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM). This bunker is one of six bombed by Coalition Air Forces during the Gulf War 1991. The bunkers were hit by at least 2000lb weapons and one bunker was hit between four and six times to see how many strikes it would take to destroy the facility. UNSCOM, operating under a UN mandate, was destroying everything related to chemical and conventional warfare.
