Muthanna, Iraq. 1992-07. United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) member, Colonel Pavel Castulik, Czech Army, chemical engineer (wearing a blue United Nations hat) makes a preliminary inspection of the furnace at the mustard incinerator site. The men with their backs to the camera are Iraqi engineers. UNSCOM, operating under a UN mandate, was destroying everything related to chemical and conventional warfare.
