McDonald, NT. Lieutenant General Van Oyen, General Officer Commanding Netherlands East Indies (NEI) Forces (right) being welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) J J Zomer, Commanding Officer of No. 18 (NEI) Squadron, a composite RAAF/Dutch unit which is equipped with North American B-25 Mitchell bomber aircraft and operates from the RAAF base. Lt Col Zomer was Commanding Officer from 11 June 1943 until 4 May 1944.
