This collection consists of several training certificates for aircraft, Flight Officer Lewis' flight log book and letters sent to his mother Mrs E. M. Lewis following his death on 31st March 1945.

The flight log book covers Lewis' time in training in Australia at Temora and his service with the Royal Air Force in the United Kingdom flying Wellington, Halifaxs and Lancaster bombers. The book is also illustrated with photographs of the planes and the group photos of No. 635 Squadron.

Addressed to his mother in Cowra NSW is a letter of condolance from the King, George R. I, and a letter from the Air Force Headquarters in Melbourne from 1946 which would have accompanied the return of the log book.
