Manbulloo, NT. c. September 1944. Trolley loads of 300lb bombs alongside a Consolidated B24 Liberator bomber aircraft A72-40 of No. 24 Squadron RAAF. Armourers Leading Aircraftman (LAC) L J. Evans of Five Dock, NSW (left) and C. J. Allen of Bemboka, NSW, carry tails for these bombs. The tails will be fitted to the bombs before being loaded into the aircraft ready for its next mission over enemy territory.
