Double exposure: unknown at Kabul hotel poolside/ two mujahideen guarding aircraft at Mazar-e Sharif airfield. One of a series of photographs taken on already-developed film by the Australian photojournalist, Ben Bohane, who travelled to Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif to report on the Mujahideen victory. The used film was purchased by an unsuspecting Bohane from a shop in Kabul – its duplication not discovered until processed in London many months later. The original owner of the film was of Western European appearance, and seemingly on a tour of humanitarian sites such as the Red Cross Hospital in Kabul.
