Beersheba, Palestine. 1917-11-01. Watering horses from a large reservoir in the background the day after the allied forces charged Beersheba and captured the town from the Turks. The man in the foreground is 572 Corporal John Thomas Reynolds, 11th Australian Light Horse (11ALH), who later died on 16 November of wounds received three days earlier. (Donor N. MacDonald)
