Description
Collection relating to Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Archibald Frank “Frank” Redhead, 23rd Battalion. Original inscription reads, ‘Using periscope rifle against Turks’ trenches 100 yards away – note sandbag closing wooden loophole while firing over – holes (knee height) for jam and cartridges. Puzzle: find his socks.’ 2nd Lt Redhead, a bookkeeper of Wagga Wagga, NSW, enlisted in January 1915. 2nd Lt Frank Redhead was killed in action on 6 May 1917.
