Description

Album of 114 pages including covers with 143 photographs and two documents, collected by Lieutenant Commander Peter Corsar Anderson, RAN. Subjects include: images from the surrender of the German High Seas Fleet, and above and below decks on the HMAS Australia, including the visit of HRH The Prince of Wales in April 1919, battle practice, picnics and leisure, a Sopwith Camel. A group of young naval officers or cadets are named (surnames only) in a portrait from December 1917. Many vessels are named, including: HMS Tiger, HMAS Australia, Indom, Inflex, Iron Durke, second Emden, Hindenberg, Repulse, Furious, Armadale Castle, Revenge, Hercules, Queen Elizabeth. Places depicted include Eastwell, Jervis Bay, Firth of Forth and others. Pages 35 to 73 are prints from the Memorial's EN series of photographs, as are many other prints dispersed through the album. Inscribed inside front cover "P. C. Anderson". 38 pages at the end of the album are blank.
