A topographical map titled 'Bacon's New Large-Scale Map of South Africa' covering Libonta (in present day Zambia) south to Cape Town. Scale ca. 1:5,000,000, edition 2, Bacon's Geographical Establishment, London. Shows railways, roads, tracks, elevated areas, populated places, and rivers. British, German and Portuguese colonies shown in different colours. Relief shown by hachures. Includes three inset maps showing 'Durban and Port Natal', 'Environs of Cape Town', and the area around Port Elizabeth. Attached to the map is a handbook detailing additional information for the various regions.
