Japan, 1947. Interior of the house occupied by 3/37571 Captain Jack Warwick Callander and his wife, showing the lounge room. At right is the connecting dining room, with part of the dining table in view. A member of the 67th Infantry Battalion, Captain Callander, of Numurkah, Vic, was Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Commander-in-Chief BCOF. He later commanded C Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) in Korea, where he was wounded in action. He was awarded the MBE in 1951 and rose to the rank of major.
