Description
Japan, c. 1950. From where they are standing in the bow of a boat, four Australian soldiers look upwards to have their photograph taken during a recreational sightseeing trip. At the same time, her back to the camera, a young Japanese woman who is accompanying the soldiers looks out across the water from the vessel's bow. Three of the soldiers are drinking glasses of beer, while the man at right is holding a cigarette. The soldiers are members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) serving with BCOF.
