No. 2 (Mitchell) Squadron, RAAF. Left to right: 2667 Sergeant (Sgt) Jack Martin, Air Gunner of
Newcastle; 413224 Warrant Officer (WO) Victor Muir, Wireless Air Gunner (WAG), of Uralla;
413226 WO Ian McCallum, WAG of Goulburn; 6862 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Les Wood, WAG of
Randwick; 15189 Flt Sgt Alec Christie, WAG of Richmond, and 424215 Flt Sgt (later WO) Jack
Purcell, WAG of Cronulla. WO McCallum was killed whilst on operations over Portuguese
Timor and is buried in the Adelaide River War Cemetery, south of Darwin, NT.
