Description
An elevated view of the German prisoner of war (POW) and internment camp, Stalag 383, formerly Oflag IIIc. A large group of POWs are assembled around the camp swimming pool, probably watching a swimming competition and in the forground a few prisoners are playing volleyball. The swimming pool was also the camp fire fighting reservoir. The camp became a special non-work camp for non-commissioned officers (NCOs) in October 1942.
