Description
Australian prisoners of war (POWs) at the German POW and internment camp Stalag 383 stand next to the fire-fighting pool where they are about to compete in a swimming carnival. This reservoir was used for swimming, but the water was not changed in three years. This German POW and internment camp was a special non-work camp for non-commissioned officers (NCOs) from October 1942.
