Description
After a crash-landing, a US Army Piper Cub aircraft stands damaged in a rice paddy while, seemingly unconcerned, a husband and wife pair of Japanese farmers toil on in the flooded field, attending to their rice plants. The aircraft had been piloted by US 1st Lieutenant R. Simpson, who was uninjured in the crash. The church in the background is a Roman Catholic church built by the Australian component of BCOF in 1947.
