Kure, Japan, 1950-08-15. Wearing a white hat, the Prime Minister, the Honourable Robert G. Menzies, inspects troops of BCOF Support Company, the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), who are lined up standing at attention on parade. The soldier walking next to Menzies is the Officer Commanding Support Company, 2/37507 Major Ian Bruce Ferguson. At left, the officer walking at the rear of the inspecting party is 3/37571 Captain Jack Warwick Callander, Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief of BCOF. The Prime Minister was carrying out the inspection as part an official visit to Australian units serving with BCOF in the Kure area.
