Ohasi, Japan. 1945-08-28. Group portrait of officers from the New Zealand cargo vessel Hauraki and the Japanese crew from Hokoku Maru, at the Japanese prisoner of war (POW) and internment camp. POWS were moved to Ohasi just prior to the end of the war and were billeted in a small theatre. The Hauraki was captured by the Japanese armed merchant cruisers Hokoku Maru and Aikoku Maru in the Indian Ocean on 12 July 1942. (Original print held in the AWM Archive Store) (Donor J. Innes)
