Mudros, Lemnos. 1915. Staff Sergeant G. Leo A Coates of SA, an electrical engineer in civilian life, performing an X-ray on a soldier who is lying on a stretcher in the X-ray room in the 1st Australian Stationary Hospital. The X-ray is to determine the position of a bullet in the patient's leg. The X-ray room is only separated from the operating theatre by a canvas curtain.
