Description
South Vietnam. 1967-09. Three M108 105mm Self-propelled (SP) Howitzers (Hows) parked by the side of the road. Six were leased by 1ATF (Australian Task Force) for "base defence" but later used for a variety of tasks. They were manned by scratch crews and formed into Howitzer Troop, A Squadron, 3 Cavalry Regiment. Note the Kangaroo insignia on the centre vehicle and the three men at left using a pull-through to clean the main armament.
