Description
Near Song Rai, South Vietnam. A US Armoured Cavalry Assault Vehicle (ACAV) towing a a trailer (right), followed by a US M88 Heavy Armoured Recovery Vehicle (ARV), and an M48A3 Patton tank on a road during Operation Paddington. Note the extra side guns mounted on the ACAV, which was a derivative of the M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) family. The ARVs were used to recover damaged heavy vehicles and were integral components of armoured units operating in the field.
