History / Summary
This Japanese pistol was designed by Nambu for mass production. Accepted by the Japanese Army in 1937 and an estimated 70,000 were produced before production ceased in 1945. The design of the pistol is clumsy and although generally well built the Type 94 rates as one of the world's worst self loading military pistols, especially regarding safety aspects.
