Description

Laverton, Vic. 1944-11-14. Front portside view of the Avro Lancaster bomber aircraft 'G for George' which had been flown on ninety operational missions over Germany and occupied Europe while on the strength of No. 460 Squadron RAAF. Behind 'G for George' on the airfield at RAAF Station Laverton, is the Avro Lancaster bomber aircraft 'Aries' from the RAF School of Air Navigation which was visiting RAAF establishments for its crew to discuss navigation issues with RAAF officials. (The aircraft 'G for George' is now in the AWM collection).
