Description
Okayama, Honshu, Japan, 1948-05. A group of Australian soldiers, members of the 67th Infantry Battalion serving with BCOF, walks along the platform at Okayama railway station, prior to boarding the train (left) which is bound for Hiro. The officer at the head of the group (right) is 2/507 Lieutenant Ivan Rupert Wilson ('Lou') Brumfield. The soldiers wearing short pants may be members of an escort party, while those wearing long trousers may be under arrest. (Donor I. Robertson)
