Hiro, Honshu, Japan, c. 1948-07. At centre left, a RAAF Air Commodore inspects a small guard of honour made up of Australian Army soldiers serving with BCOF. The soldier wearing a beret (extreme left) is an officer of the New Zealand Army, possibly Captain Simpson who graduated from the Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon in 1944-12. (Donor I. Robertson)
