Description
Kure, Honshu, Japan, 1948-11-25. Standing at attention, members of the 67th Infantry Battalion serving with BCOF form a guard of honour at the Kure docks for the 65th and 66th Battalions which are departing Japan for Australia. At left, a boy scout gives a salute. The soldier at the extreme left of the front row of troops is Warrant Officer 1 (WO1) H. ('Jack') Harwood, Regimental Sergeant Major of the 67th Battalion. Standing next to him is 2/1142 WO2 W.A.M. ('Dusty') Ryan, while the soldier between Hardwood and the scout, in the second row of troops, is VX96587 Corporal L.J. Moon. (Donor I. Robertson)
