Local inhabitants line up outdoors, possibly to receive medical treatment from Rifle Platoon Commander Mark Jennings of 2/4 RAR (closest to camera) and Lance Corporal Paul Jacobson who are members of the Australian Medical Support Force. The Australian Medical Support Force was in Rwanda as part of UNAMIR (United Nations Assistance Mission in Rwanda). It provided medical treatment for UN troops deployed to repatriate refugees affected by the civil war, and to provide humanitarian assistance to local people. Mark Jennings military career flourished and now holds the rank of Colonel. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for distinguished command and leadership in action as the Commanding Officer, 1st Mentoring Task Force on Operation Slipper in Afghanistan from May to October 2010.
