Description
Private Trent Burnard, a member of the 2nd/4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR), serving in Rwanda as part of the infantry protection element for the Australian Medical Support Force, sits under a green canvas shade cover at Belgium Gardens. He is talking with a young ten year old Kigali boy, John Paul. Private Burnard is wearing a blue United Nations (UN) beret. The Australian Medical Support Force provides medical treatment for UN troops deployed to help repatriate refugees affected by the civil war, and provides humanitarian assistance to local people.
