Rwanda. 1995-01-04. Captain Anthony McIntyre (usually with 4 Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, Brisbane) holds a Steyr F88 service rifle while surveying the area in front of the entrance to the headquarters and accommodation area for the Australian Medical Support Force in Rwanda. The medical support force is part of UNAMIR (United Nations Assistance Mission in Rwanda), a peacekeeping mission to the war-torn central African nation. It provides medical treatment for UN troops and humanitarian assistance to local people where possible.
