Description
Hill Salmon, Korea, 1951-04-16. Members of C Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), moving on to Hill Salmon. In the foreground (left) is Private Dave Wilson who is carrying a two-inch mortar on his back. Behind him (left to right) are: a soldier carrying under one arm a case containing a shell for a rocket launcher and, over the opposite shoulder, a rifle with a shell dressing attached to its strap near the butt of the weapon; a soldier wearing a pile cap and carrying a Bren gun over his shoulder; a third soldier carrying a 3.5 inch rocket launcher in two halves on his back. C Company took Salmon quickly when its Chinese defenders abandoned the feature. (Donor I. Robertson)
