Description
Pusan, Korea, 1950-09-28. From the deck of the United States Navy troopship Aiken Victory, members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), look out on a large welcoming party waiting on the wharf to greet them. The ship has just brought the battalion from Kure in Japan to serve in the war in Korea. On the wharf (left) is a large choir composed of Korean women who are holding bouquets of flowers to present as gifts of welcome to senior Australian officers.
