Description
Korea, 1950-10. Squatting on the ground, North Korean prisoners-of-war (POWs) collect river stones and pebbles on the blades of shovels. The stones are probably being used to fill in holes in the road at rear. Behind the men at work, some other POWs are resting on the ground. The rails from a wrecked railway track lie in the midground. In the background are several military trucks and jeeps, one of which (centre) is carrying members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). (Donor I. Robertson)
