North Korea, 1950-11-28. During the withdrawal from Kunu-ri to Chasan, members of B and C Companies, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), trudge through mud and slush on a road congested with retreating US jeeps and other military vehicles. The landscape around the column of troops and vehicles is covered with winter snow. The 3RAR soldiers are wearing pile caps and padded windproof jackets as protection against the cold. (Donor I.
