Description
Oondanga, Namibia. c.1989-11. A line of Canadian transport trucks at the base of the second Australian contingent to UNTAG (United Nations Transition Assistance Group) after dropping off supplies for the election monitors. On the right are Buffel MPV (Mine Protected Vehicles) carrying Australians returning from a patrol, just before the elections. In the background flies a United Nations (UN) flag. Near the flag is a tower which was "acquired" from the local airforce base. On the right are the perimeter defences of the Ondangwa base. On top of the earth wall are sandbag fighting bays every twenty five metres. On the outside of the wall was razor and barbed wire.
