Vung Tau, Vietnam. c.1966. Cafes and bars line the foreshore of Back Beach on the eastern side of the Vung Tau peninsula. It was believed that the far end of the beach was used by the Viet Cong as a rest and recreation area for their own personnel. The 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG) was established in 1966 behind the sand dunes in the background.
