Wedding in war-time, 1915
Description
The influence of decorative design from Maori art and from the flat designs on playing cards is evident in this etching 'Wedding in war-time, 1915'. Hanrahan was a highly regarded novelist and print maker who created this retrospective work in 1983. The subject reflects the artists' interest in the role of women during the First World War and the exploration of the relationship between women and men during wartime.
