400188 Navigator (later Flight Lieutenant) Maurice Kennedy 'Bill' Burnside (left) and 400690 Navigator (later Flying Officer) Jack Bond, stand in their flying outfits in front of an Avro Anson aircraft. The plane is parked on the tarmac at RAAF No. 1 Air Observers School, Cootamundra, NSW. Flying Officer Bond was accidentally killed on 18 July, 1945 in operations with 22 Squadron RAAF off the south-west-coast of Morotai Island, in the Netherland East Indies. (Donor: J. Burnside)
