Bardia, Libya. 1943-07. Airmen probably of No. 38 Squadron RAF survey the damaged nose of a Wellington aircraft which is on the ground after its tyre burst in take-off. Scattered around the aircraft are mangled sheets of metal from the wreckage. Standing in the cockpit is 400188 Observer Maurice Kennedy "Bill" Burnside RAAF.
