Diary and transcript describing invasion of Japanese at Ambon, initial decision to surrender,then escape from island by boat. Travelled through Ceram Islands, then through Arafura Sea to Merauke and finally through Gulf of Carpentaria to Normanton in Australia. Mentions storms and lack of wind, assistance given by natives and Dutch, stopping at Various islands, food and illness.
